As is true with all things in life, it is very important to have a link with the past to improvise and grow in the future. This is especially true of the alumni of a college-they are the source whose thoughts and ideas become future innovations.
So, to continue this process of growth and to keep the alumni informed about the activities at LIBA ,the Alumni Committee plans to launch the Alumni newsletter this month on 8th October ,2009.This is the quarterly issue comprising of the various clubs and committees at LIBA and the work that they have been doing for the past, along with interviews with LIBA students on various important issues.
The official launch of this issue will be done by Mr Ramesh Nair, an alumnus of LIBA. Mr. Ramesh Nair Senior has an extensive profile-he is a real estate professional with 12 years of broad based professional expertise in development advisory, concept planning, site acquisitions, disposals, transaction structuring, investment advisory, operations, business development, valuations, financial analysis and research in the Indian real estate sector across diverse asset classes in various cities advising occupiers, owners and investors of real estate, holding profit & Loss responsibility for the Office, Retail, Residential, Industrial and the Capital Markets businesses for two key regions in India reporting to the CEO of India. He is also country head for the Warehousing and Logistics Solutions Business, responsible for strategy, execution, risk mitigation, performance management, talent management and compliance for the regions, for sourcing and identifying real estate opportunities, managing the acquisition process including due diligence, quantitative and qualitative analysis and contract process for developers, investors and occupiers of real estate. He was one of the youngest Directors of the company in Asia Pacific and currently one of the youngest MD’s of JLL globally and has been part of the core team which has been responsible for making Jones Lang LaSalle the largest real estate advisory firm in India and achieved market leadership status for Jones Lang LaSalle in South India. Yet, despite having such an illustrious profile, he has been humble enough to grace the occasion to launch the newsletter.
The launch of the newsletter is just the start to more activities lined up by the alumni committee such the F Batch anniversary, more city chapter meets, alumni meets, monthly e-letters along with the launch of a brand new website designed for the alumni to keep in touch with the happenings at LIBA.
The Alumni Committee, in association with the Media and Communications Committee, plan to involve the alumni and students of LIBA in many such events in the future.
